A handful of people had trouble with the Strava segment, but still made ascent times worth noting.
Ride the hurricane offical strava segment
START: Please review the segment carefully BEFORE you start the ride so you know the route, and exactly where it starts and ends. This year the segment does not begin exactly at the starting line, but a few yards further along the route at the East end of the Red Lion hotel hotel. This is to prevent delays or false starts at the starting line caused by waiting for friends, adjusting a bib, taking photos, etc. All cyclists should be well under way when they reach the start of the segment.
FINISH: The segment ends at the top of the climb where cyclists enter the parking lot. This is the highest point of the ride, and the official end of the Ride the Hurricane 2024 Strava segment. Once you’ve passed that point you can take your time to explore Hurricane Ridge, grab a snack from the aid station, and get your summit photo taken.
